“Flexible Glue” mortar

Adhesive for laying ceramic, granite and marble tiles, with or without absorption, in interior and exterior applications. For laying floors over underfloor heating or cooling systems. For application over existing substrates, on high-traffic floors and on façade cladding. Suitable for plaster substrates and laminated plasterboard. Its properties are: high adhesion, good thixotropy and easy application. Yield: 3–4 kg/m² for single-layer bonding and 6–8 kg/m² for double-layer bonding.

Instructions

The substrates must be conventional, rendered and cement mortar-floored. They must be strong, fully hardened and free of dust, oils and paints.

1| Achieve perfect homogenisation with approximately 7.5–8 litres of water per bag using a mortar mixer until all lumps are eliminated.

2| Leave the paste to rest for 5 minutes and re-mix.

3| Apply the paste with a notched trowel in patches no larger than 2m². For tiles of 30 x 30 cm or larger, use the double-glue technique.

4| Place the tiles onto the fresh mortar, pressing down slightly until full contact is achieved across the entire surface.

5| Leave a joint of at least 1.5 mm in interiors and 5 mm in exteriors.

6| Provide expansion joints every 50 m² (small formats) and 30 m² (large formats). Respect the building’s perimeter and structural joints.

7| On façades, protect the top edges to prevent water ingress.

8| For sizes larger than 50 x 40 cm or weights exceeding 30 kg/m², use mechanical fixings.

Precautions

Do not apply at temperatures below 5 °C or above 35 °C. In adverse climatic conditions (strong winds and high temperatures) the adhesive dries more quickly than normal, reducing its open time. Periodically check that no surface film forms on the applied adhesive. In this case, the product will need to be re-combed or re-applied. Do not add any additional products that could alter the original contents of the container. Avoid direct contact with eyes and skin. In case of contact, rinse the affected areas with plenty of water.

Storage

The product is supplied in 25 kg paper bags, shrink-wrapped on pallets of 32 bags (800 kg). Maximum storage time: 1 year in a fully sealed bag protected from humidity. The disposal of the product and its packaging must be carried out in accordance with current legislation and is the responsibility of the end user.
