At ARENES BELLPUIG, we are very aware that the extractive industry has environmental effects and alters the morphology of the terrain. For this reason, we are committed to a continuous process of improving the areas where we operate, carrying out a series of actions to help the species that inhabit these zones and, in this way, contribute to the improvement of biodiversity in our ecosystems.
 
An initiative by the Aggregates Federation (FdA)

The aggregate manufacturing companies grouped within this federation are promoting this proposal to raise awareness of the aggregates industry, foster closer links with the community and encourage schoolchildren to take responsibility for the reforestation of our landscapes.
 
Planting trees and aromatic herbs with Escola Vedruna Bellpuig

This year we have worked on this initiative with the Vedruna school in Bellpuig.
On Friday 26th April, we opened our facilities to the pupils for an environmental education activity. We turned this day into an opportunity to share our work and show that quarries and gravel pits can be compatible with environmental care and the promotion of sustainability.
The pupils started the day learning how aggregates are extracted, their multiple uses, and how to protect and promote biodiversity. They finished the day by planting trees and various aromatic plants to reforest these extraction areas.
